Projects for 2025

Started launching side projects on 2024, what's the plan for 2025?

Looking back at the goals I set when starting this blog, I’m happy to share that I've already reached two key milestones: revenue from my apps now covers the yearly Apple developer fee as well as costs like AI tools, backend services, and various business-related subscriptions:

  • ✅ From $0MRR to $1MRR.

  • ✅ From $1MRR to cover the business costs.

  • From covering the costs to ramen profitability.

  • From ramen profitability to something better.

The journey from zero to profitability has been incredibly rewarding so far, and while I’m not done yet, it has also been exhausting to handle with a nine-to-five job.

As part of my "12 Apps in 12 Months" challenge, I've just wrapped up app number 7. It's pretty niche, and most of you probably won’t need it unless you're living in Thailand, but I'll share more details once it’s officially out, likely next week (It’s still sitting in the App review queue!)

How’s 2025 so far?

Revenue has been growing steady, but is far from being automated, which is the ultimate objective. Since I’ve started developing and launching side-projects last year:

  • September 2024: $0

  • October 2024: $0

  • November 2024: $0

  • December 2024: $2

  • January 2025 : $204

  • February 2025 : $765

What’s next?

I’ve been circling back to game development lately, but it’s very hard to fit a game into a monthly project unless extremely simple, games are very complex pieces of software so I don’t think I’ll try to fit one into the remaining apps, but I might!

Five apps left to go this year to complete the 12 apps in 12 months challenge, here are some thoughts about the next steps:

  • I’m not planning to stick to iOS apps only, I want to experiment with launching a SaaS, a web service, and some game development tool as well.

  • I want to experiment further with AI-driven features and backend integrations, not only client-side apps.

  • I want to continue streamlining and automating parts of my workflow to make app development faster and more efficient.

  • I want to find time to circle back to all the apps I’ve already launched and improve them.

Each app brings new learnings, and I plan to share these insights. Stay tuned!
